First of all… WOW. Definitely realized what I want to do with my life!
Started off the day at costa with a cup of tea and a caramel shortbread while going over the brief. Myself and Caroline got assigned the brief of picking party outfits and wrapping them up glamorously with big cosy accessories!
We basically had the whole Bon Accord centre to go into, pick anything and everything we wanted (enough for 7 outfits), tell them we were doing a newspaper shoot and take them, naturally we went CRAZY in Topshop, we also used clothes from Coast, Warehouse, Next, Republic and Miss Selfridge. The only catch was that because it was for a newspaper, we had to style most of the outfits for a slightly older audience, but we enjoyed the challenge!
The whole shoot was shot in the changing rooms of Coast which was lovely because it was just so luxurious and fitting to our brief!
So all in all, Sarah (the PR for the shopping centre) and Cara (our lecturer) were VERY impressed as were we, we got asked to do it again and were asked to work with Sarah on another project so it couldn’t have gone any better… well we could have got to keep all the clothes but we could only dream!
Here’s some sneaky behind the scenes photo’s as a teaser before the actual photos get to us!
And if anyone is wondering, we were told they’ll most likely be in the next issue of the Press & Journal so keep a look out!
^ since the newspaper was trying to broaden its readership into a younger audience we were allowed to pick an outfit that was more youthful so we went for this ensemble of a leather panelled body (Miss Selfridge), crucifix beaded skirt (Topshop), glittery socks (Topshop), velvet heels – which I was tempted to steal (Topshop), leather gloves (Topshop) and fur headband (Topshop)!
^ this black shirt was from Topshop, we found this really cute collar bow that you just attach round a shirt neck and it completely transforms the shirt which was also from Topshop, the fur gilet was £60 also from Topshop (shock!), the skinny jeans that were actually made from a legging-like material were from Warehouse and the sparkly boots were from Next!
^ loved this outfit – the statement blazer is from Next, the pussybow blouse from republic, the skinny jeans/leggings from Warehouse, bright pink shoes from Next (only £28!) and the big feather clutch was also from Next!
^ another favourite outfit – the same amazing velvet shoes, an elasticated pencil skirt from Miss Selfridge, an embellished black top from Miss Selfridge and a really cosy cover up also from Miss Selfridge!
Also the lovely model is Razzy Lee x
